Privacy Policy

How VUS Genetics collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

Last updated: 13 May 2026

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how VUS Diagnostics B.V., trading as VUS Genetics (“VUS Genetics”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), processes personal data in connection with this website (vusgenetics.com) and our related business activities.

We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at:

2. What data we collect and why

2.1 Contact form

When you submit the contact form on our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), subject line, and the contents of your message. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and follow up on any business discussion you initiate.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), or, where relevant, taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Processor: contact form submissions are delivered to us via FormSubmit, which forwards the message to our email inbox.

2.2 Meeting bookings

Our Contact page embeds a scheduling widget provided by Calendly. When you book a meeting through it, Calendly collects the information you enter (such as name, email, and any meeting details) on its own platform and shares it with us. Calendly acts as a separate data controller for its own platform; please refer to Calendly’s Privacy Policy for details.

2.3 Career applications

If you email careers@vusgenetics.com with a CV or motivation letter, we process the information you send in order to evaluate your application and contact you about it.

Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to a possible employment relationship (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in evaluating candidates (Art. 6(1)(f)).

2.4 Website analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our website in aggregate (pages viewed, referrers, approximate location, device type). Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect information that directly identifies you.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring and improving our website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

2.5 Embedded third-party content

Our Contact page embeds a Google Maps map showing our office location. When this content loads, the relevant third-party providers (Google, Calendly) may receive technical information about your visit, such as your IP address and browser details, and may set cookies. See our Cookie Notice for more detail.

3. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies

We do not run advertising campaigns from this website and we do not place marketing or advertising cookies. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the service providers necessary to run our website and respond to you:

  • FormSubmit — delivery of contact form submissions to our inbox.
  • Calendly — meeting scheduling (when you choose to book a meeting).
  • Google Maps — embedded map on our Contact page.
  • Vercel — website hosting and aggregate analytics.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Contact form submissions and related correspondence: up to 24 months after our last interaction, unless we need to keep the data longer to perform a contract or comply with a legal obligation.
  • Unsolicited career applications (CVs, motivation letters): up to 12 months, after which the material is deleted unless you have asked us to keep it on file.
  • Aggregate analytics: retained according to Vercel’s standard retention; the data is not personally identifiable to us.

6. Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@vusgenetics.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or your local supervisory authority.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
